How does the Air Force help you with college after you completed your active years?

I want to go in the Air Force and I know they help you with tuition for colleges after you’re done with serving. I was wondering, how does it work? Can you get free tuition to any college in your state? How about out of state colleges? I was curious of this.

I’m guesing you’re asking about the Post-911 GI Bill. It’s awesome. You can go to any college, but they will only pay as much as the average public state university. However, if your school qualifies, you can use an additional program, known as yellow flag, to pay for the difference. I use yellow flag to attend my school. Also, you will receive E-5 Dependent rate BAH while you are attending classes, as long as at least one class is on campus. The book stipend isn’t very good, but you can receive up to $700/per year for books. I go through that in a semester normally, but it’s better than nothing!
