Black Widow

Black Widow
How do I get rid of black widow spiders?

I put my house plants outside in the summer. Now I need to move them back into the house. However, there are black widow spiders in some of the pot overhangs. How do I get rid of them prior to moving them into the house.?

When disturbed, the spider will hide, perhaps in a crack or hole in the
planter. at night, the spider will be hanging in her web, making it an
easy target for a vacuum. you have to be prepared, as they can
be fairly quick in their web. If you have children or pets, ridding
these is not a bad idea.
If you gently blow on the spider, it will run to its ‘hideout’,
which may not even be in the planter. you could then just move the
planter. after ridding the spider, you need to inspect the planter
for egg sacs and dispose of any. (these are usually in the hideout)
All of this is not a difficult chore, as I have a number of widows in my
room and have to rid a few of them from time to time.
