What is so great about a carbon fiber hood?
I recently got into a fender bender and are in need of a new hood. I drive a blue 2001 Audi A4. A carbon fiber hood has come up as an option and I’m not sure of the difference besides maybe weight? I figure it’d be much lighter than a regular metal hood. Some pros and cons?
Oh, and if you have any suggestions of where I can get a hood at good price in general I’d appreciate it.
Carbon fiber hoods are used primarily for the reduction in weight. It’s just as strong as aluminum and fiberglass but weighs much less. They’re also difficult to paint, so unless you’re a racer, don’t get one.
