Fighting Knife

really random question about fighting with a knife?

Ok say sum 1 bigger and stronger than u wants to fight and u pull out a knife and they dont have one what are the chances that you can scare them and they will back down? And if they dont how would u legally use a knife in defense cause u certainly do not want to kill them so how can u win. and wut are the chances that u will win….. yea completely random question that me and this guy at my office were debating about.

FIrst off you have to consider the knife you are carrying. If it is longer than the applicable laws in your area you actually can be arrested just for having it. This is called Posession of a Deadly Weapon and is a Class C Misdemeanor.

Second in a one on one situation if you pull a knife you can be charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon simply by pulling it on an unarmed man. If there are more than one you are relatively safe against that law.

Next you have figure if you are carrying a legal knife (pocket knife with a blade from 2 to 2 1/2 inches) you will probably be laughed at and in trouble unless you know how to use it.

Finally if you end up cutting the person or worse you can be arrested for anything from Assault with a Deadly Weapon to Homocide. It all depends on a lot of factors but no matter what if you pull a knife on a person the chances are 90% effective that you will end up in jail and fined heavily. That is the real percentage you need to be concerned with.

Personally I would never pull a knife on another person especially since there is always that chance they may know more than you and use it against you. Keep these things in mind.
