Guthook Hunting

Guthook or regular skinning blade?

I’m making my fiance a knife for his birthday. (With the help of my father). I think he would want a guthook but I don’t really know. He was in the army and he loves to hunt. He loves midevil things, that’s why I’m thinking something like a guthook. But I don’t know. Please tell me what you think would be best. Oh, and the handle is going to be a deer horn. Thanks guys!

I don’t understand some of the answers on this question. People need to understand that the number one mess up on deer cleaning is busting the belly cavity while gutting it. Everyone is not a pro at this. The gut hook virtually eliminates the busted guts that most novices sometimes get.while field dressing his deer.It is a useful tool and he would no doubt love it.
