Flyers and folders are the backbone of many marketing strategies for advertisers. They can be mailed, emailed, and presented at conferences. Your printing professional has the proper equipment and knowledge to help you make sure your folder is properly set up. In this way, the colors you choose will be those that are used on the pamphlet or folder. It is easy to choose a color, send it to the printer, and the ad comes out all wrong.

The colors need to be translated from a computer to the machine that prints. When the communication is wrong between the two, the result is the wrong color. When your printer tells the computer which colors are specified, the computer can then correctly communicate with the machine that does the printing, and the results should be perfect.

The monitor that your printing professional uses is calibrated to show more accurately the colors that will come out on your folder. A certain color wheel is used to get the combination of codes right, so there is no chance for error. You may prepare the door hangers yourself and everything could be right, from the template to the positioning and so on, but the colors you see on your monitor need to be coded as is the monitor of your printing professional or the result can be disastrous.

What type of folder will you be using to present to your customers? It can be as simple and to the point as an eight and a half by eleven inch page folded in half. Or it can be very elaborate.

If your folder is going to be lengthy, it may be placed in one of many attractive folder covers on the market. They could be clear, or colored, or golden, whatever is appropriate to your product or service. These are usually bound by staples and then covered with a plastic spine, or sometimes bound by a plastic spiral using a binding machine. You may even want a three-ring binder for larger presentations.

The software you use is also important. There is software that will perfectly align your design where you want it on the page and with the text wrapped neatly around it. It can separate entire pages into columns, like in a newspaper. You should also be able to crop and place your photos, clipart, charts, and other images exactly where you want them, and perhaps a border would make them stand out even better.

Colors are an important part of your presentation folder printing. They are the determining factor as to whether or not someone will take a second look. They are your best chance for a good first impression. They have the power to make your presentation pop or have your audience yawning. It might be wise to listen to the opinion of your printing professional on this subject, as well.
