Horn Spacer

Spaced ears infected at 8g, with plastic horn spacers. What do I do?
so, read this first so you know the entire story. so, a little over 2 years ago I spaced my ears and got to 8g, but then i took them out. I decided to start spacing them again the other day and bought myself 8g pink horn spacers. I put them in yesterday afternoon and theyve been swollen and painful even since. I was assuming that maybe my ears didnt strech back fully because i know they didnt because my lobes were a liiiiiiiiittle loose not fully 18g like my second hole lobe piercing. I know it’s stupid to skip but I thought it would go in nicely, which it did but then i really streched once the horns were in fully. Anyways, now they’re extremely swollen and they’ve been hurting and I’m wondering what i should do? I know about saltwater but whats the best methods and should I let them heal and then put them back in? help please
You probably gave yourself pressure ulcers by shoving them in like that. You are, in essence, cutting off circulation to that area. Immediately take out the jewelry you have now and, if you insist on having something in there, get either a glass or titanium set that is smaller and will not put pressure on your ears.
The best advice is to take them out and let your ears heal before even thinking about putting more in, and as someone said, ice it as much as you can. When they are ready again, do it SLOW. A good indication that anyone is stretching too quickly is if there is ANY pain involved. Never force in jewelry that’s too large for you.
Be patient and your body will thank you for it. Otherwise you’re going to end up with torn ears and disgusting scar tissue.
Oh, and stay away from saltwater. Don’t know why that’s so prevalent with piercing still(would you rub saltwater into any other open wound?), being that it’s really useless unless you have access to hospital-grade saline mixtures. All that will do is dry out and irritate your already pissed off skin. If you’re going to wash it, mild soap and water works just fine.
Good luck with it.
