Knife Norway

hey, where do you think is better for a hol finland or norway? jus need a few more op. ?

me and my mate were thinking of going to ‘helsinki’ for a holiday next year but a guy i know has sorta put me off by saying wel get knifed etc. so other choice would be somewhere in ‘Norway’ but now kinda confussed,which do you think would be better? cheers.

You won’t get knifed in Scandinavia. I’ve lived in Sweden and Norway for 7 years, and the only incident I’ve seen that entire time was a homeless guy get headbutted by a Hell’s Angel guy in the Stockholm subway over a money dispute. Violent crime is very rare, and the chances of it happening to you here are almost nonexistent.

As far as where to go, it depends what you are wanting to see/do. I prefer Norway over Finland for the scenery, but if you just plan to stay in a major city, it doesn’t matter so much. Helsinki is a lot cheaper than Oslo. The west coast of Norway is gorgeous with all the mountains and fjords, and there are some decent sized cities (Bergen, Stavanger and even Tromsø if you want to see the Arctic Circle.. Tromsø has a great nightlife). English is great all over Scandinavia, so that won’t be a problem.

You could always visit Helsinki or Stockholm, then take the overnight ferry across to the other city for a few days.
