I cut my finger 2 days ago accidentally on a very sharp knife and it seems infected?..?

I cut my finger 2 days ago accidentally on a very sharp knife, then today i was handling my dog and 20 minutes later my cut and surrounding was swollen and itchy i started examining it closely and puss came out. Could this have any direct affiliation with my dog???

An open wound can become infected when coming in contact with any bacteria, a dogs fur would certainly do that but if pus was already present then that means the cut is already infected and you need to sterilize it. Clean the cut thoroughly with soap and warm water until all the pus is removed (it’ll sting). Use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol to further sterilize the wound then cover it with a band-aid or bandage. If the infection persists consult a doctor.
