Where can I go on a survival weekend?

I live in Barnsley which is near Sheffield and Leeds and I have rather warmed to the thought of going out into the wilderness with nothing but a knife and the clothes on my back. I mean the whole shabang; anything I eat I catch, wherever I sleep I will have built, and any warmth comes from the fire I built rubbing sticks together. (not literally) But there is the problem I have no idea where I can go, near by, where i’m allowed to do such things. The Pennines is a good idea but i’m not sure on the laws they have. Help.

Hey man i’ve been thinking about doing the same thing about a month ago. I want to go into a survival situation in the forest, with just a knife. The only thing is, you’re gonna die. Trust me if you don’t have the experience, you will pretty much suffer. Here are some of the basic things you need, and you need to be experienced with some of them too

-multi tool
-thermal blanket
-something to start fire such as flint/tinder
-water bottles
-MRE’s

man i wish i could just use the wilderness’s resources to craft these things for myself, the thing is that im not experienced yet to do that. also watch out for hypothermia.
