Is there a book/movie/TV show that involves a very sharp knife/sword?

I can’t recall the name of said book/movie/TV show, but one of the characters (not a main one) spent days sharpening this knife/sword to the point that it was the sharpest in the world. It could cut through any thing instantly, no resistance at all.

In Terry Pratchett’s ‘Discworld’ series, Death has a scythe and a sword that match that description.
