Torque on a stick?

20 cm of a stick are to the left of a fulcrum and 60 cm of the stick are to the right of the fulcrum. The stick is balnced by the hanging of two identical balls. One ball is at the end of the 20 cm to the left of the fulcrum, and the other ball is 10 cm to the right of the fulcrum. What is the ratio of the weight of the stick: weight of one ball.

We need to assume the center of mass of the stick is at the center, 40 cm from either end. Then we balance torques.
Counterclockwise torque = clockwise torque
Torque = length of lever arm*force applied. In this case, the lever arm is the distance from the point the force is applied to the fulcrum.
mb*g*.02 m = mb*g*.01 m + ms*g*.02 m
mb*g*.01 m = ms*g*.02 m
mb = 2*ms
ratio stick to ball = 1/2
