how to glue metal to wood?

I have a sword case, holder or sheath or whatever it is called, and the end bit that was metal was glued to the wood. Now since the glue dried out the metal of course wouldn’t stay with the glue now it feel off. How can I attach metal to wood? Do you think some sort of putty or something would work?

Welder glue will do it, without being too flexible like silicone glues
Plumbers Goop (In the purple tube) will also work.
