how do you decide what cord is suitable for your knives?

I have few folding knifes (Spyderco Endura 4, Rat 1, etc), and medium size fixed blade (Sog Seal Pup Elite, Sog Gov Tac, etc). I got paracord on my folding knives with a hanger coil style. But what about a fixed blade ? I suppose I can do the same (hanger coil) paracord or should I make it to a wrist loop?

I find that wrist loops get in the way. I suppose they’d be ok for some applications, but in any of those id rather just tether the knife to my body. Your mileage may vary.
