Keep All your Knives Sharp with a Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker

Keeping your knives sharp is important to making the most out of all your knives and now there is system that will allow you to easily sharpen any kind of knife. The Sharpmaker Tri-Angle Sharpener by Spyderco is a widely popular sharpening system that includes multiple sharpening stones all contained in a hard plastic case that protects your stones from damage and also acts as a working surface. Although the triangle Sharpmaker is made by Spyderco it can be used on virtually any brand and style of pocket knives. Safety rods are included for added protection while sharpening your knives.

The Stones

The Tri-angle Sharpmaker comes with two sets of high quality ceramic stones that allow you to sharpen a wide variety of knives at a couple different angles. The first set of stones is a medium-grit 7″ x .5″ stone for aggressive sharpening or resurfacing a badly damaged knife. Along with the medium stones you also get a pair of professional grade finishing stones for making your knives razor sharp. The design of the stones are triangle so that you can sharpen plain edge knives on the flat surfaces and then use the sides of the stone to sharpen your knives that have serrated edges. A furrow is cut into the stones so that you can sharpen even more items like fish hooks and darts. Cleaning the stones can be done easily by simply scrubbing them in the sink or by placing them in the dishwasher. Be careful when handling the stones because they are fragile and might break if dropped.

The Case

The protective case that helps keep the stones from breaking is made from a high quality and strong ABS plastic. When design the case for the Sharpmaker Spyderco wanted to create something that not only provided protection but also provided functionality for an easy sharpening experience. With holes and cradles designed into the case for holding the stones in place during sharpening the case is worthy its weight in gold. When turning the case over you can use two stones and you’ll then have a benchstone for free hand sharpening. Place the triangle stones in the keyed bases on the case and you’ll be able to sharpen your knife to either 20 or 40 degrees.

The DVD

The Sharpmaker Triangle kit comes complete with its very own DVD that teaches you how to sharpen a knife on the Sharpmaker. Hosted by Sal Glesser the owner of Spyderco this video assists even the first time knife sharpener in delivering a razor sharp factory like edge. If the DVD isn’t for you the set also comes with an instruction booklet that examples how to properly operate your knife sharpener.
