Sugar Maple

Sugar Maple
what is the difference between a sugar maple and a regular maple tree?

what is the best month of the year to tap a maple tree and how many gallons does it take to make a gallon and if you boil more does it make it sweeter and i heard that you can tap walnut trees and hickory trees is that true?

Sugar maple (Acer saccharum) is just one species of Maple (Acer). The trees are tapped in early spring, when the sap is just beginning to flow; the month may vary according to weather and location. Yes, the more it’s boiled the sweeter it becomes because the sugar becomes more concentrated as the liquid evaporates. The site below will answer your other questions.
