Should Your Business Be Using Team Building More

Everyone is aware that the economy is in a bit of state and many businesses are struggling to survive. Costs have increased, competition is ruthless and customers have stopped buying. Overheads have been attacked ferociously in most businesses and a lot of costs than may have previously flown under radar are not doing so any longer.  Company cars and credit cards have been taken away in many companies and advertising costs have been tightened dramatically. There is one area however that businesses should think twice about before axing, and that is corporate team building. In fact, increasing that amount of team building days that you run as a company could even save you business, and here’s why.

Keeping your best staff. In times of economic struggle, rival companies will be looking to get the best people possible into their company to help them survive. They will be trying every trick in the book to take your best employees from you and if you are treating them well and strengthening the bonds between all your employees via team building days, there is less chance they will be tempted to leave. Additionally, corporate events such as a Henley Regatta hospitality day are always a strong persuader.

Encourage good work ethic. Working relationships between management and staff are not one-way. Employers need to give back something to their staff for their hard work and loyalty, and this can be achieved by getting the team together outside of a working environment for team building days. Further to this, communication within a team is one area that greatly benefits from team building days and this has the knock on effect of improving efficiency

De-stress
. Especially during these tough times, stress levels in business can boil over and cause massive friction. This is not good for any company and one simple way to combat this is to get your employees having fun and working on new challenges as a complete team that are not related to work. If your stuck for ideas you’ll find that corporate cookery is always great fun.
