How does the F-15 Eagle have a 104-0 Air to Air combat record?
I’ve heard a few times, and now seen on Wikipedia™ that the F-15 Eagle tactical fighter plane has a 104-0 air to air combat record. Here’s the little excerpt from Wikipedia™.
“The F-15 in all air forces had an air-to-air combined record of 104 kills to 0 losses in air combat as of February 2008.[43] To date, no air superiority versions of the F-15 (A/B/C/D models) have ever been shot down by enemy forces. Over half of F-15 kills were achieved by Israeli Air Force pilots.”
My question about this is, who are the F-15 kills against? I’m not very well informed, but it seems most of our most recent wars have been against terrorists who aren’t in possession of planes, hence I’m asking who the F-15s are shooting down.
Additionally, does the F-22 Raptor have a known combat record? Has it ever even been used in a real combat situation?
