How do I mount a picture frame to a wall?

I’m mounting a 24×36 picture frame in a very busy, public area. The frame will definitely get hit by people walking around, backpacks, etc. I need to find a way to mount the frame to the wall so it’ll withstand these blows, not get shifted out of place, not fall on people, and won’t do tons of damage to the wall. Mounting on a screw only or bolting it are out of the question. Any ideas?

I would mount it into a stud and double tape the sides and back. That should keep it in place.
